Summary: Driven guy takes things a bit too far and ends up creating something that destroys everything:

Things I liked.

Introducing the main protaganist through the eyes of a secondary category. This reminded me a bit of Gatsby and Nick.

Good questions/ideas: The 'Other', obsession, what is human etc. Good fodder for thinking/rethinking about what you believe.

Things I thought could be improved:

A classic and very well written. Not what you think it would be based on the Hollywood versions you've seen. The Flashback, layered format of the narrative is intriguing. The Freudian notion of the Id, Ego and Superego is well developed as Dr. Frankenstein sleeps when the Monster comes out to speak, and then awakes when the Monster disappears. For a book that came about as a dare as to which of these friends, Mary Shelley, Percy Byssch Shelley, and Gordon Lord Byron could tell the best scary tal ...more
