What Members Thought

This is the first time in a while that I have enjoyed the shifting perspective in a book. The shifts felt seamless and I was never confused about whose perspective I was seeing. As well, the characters were all equally interesting. This book has a TON of characters and takes place in New York, Prague, and even Antarctica at times. It is massive and all-encompassing. I sailed through the first half thinking 'what a great book' but then it just ground to a halt & I had to force my way through the rest. It had some very interesting moments, but a lot got lost in the convolutions of the prose. Maybe it's just that it was a "boys' own" adventure, but it left me cold.
