I like this series. I read the third book first, Lowcountry Boneyard, unknowing that it wasn't the first book. So, I already knew some of the history (and future) of the characters, but I didn't know the killer because that wasn't spoiled in the third book. I don't know if I liked the mystery's resolution, but I liked Liz and the fact that she was a PI and did things in a fairly sensible manner. Mainly I like the family and the people, and the ambiance. I've only been to Charleston on one weeken ...more

My first book from this author and it was an entertaining mystery. There were some twist and turns in this story since not just one thing happened but multiple mysteries and the touch of paranormal to the story as well. I'm not sure what I think of Liz because at some moments I found her to be a bit annoying especially when Michael was around which personally I think he's a bit of a chump. I am really glad I started this series. I love Liz and her family and the book moved along at a good rate and had twists and turns. I love the descriptions of people and their surroundings. I really hope she doesn't get back with Michael and that she realizes that Nate is the one. ...more

This is a great first book in the series. Liz is a PI who has established her business hours from home. Now that she has come back home for her Gram has been murdered, she sets out to find out who did it. We get to meet the whole gang of family and friends in this book and leaves you wanting to know more about everyone.

Cute beginning to the series. I'm glad I had this on my Kindle because there were many characters to keep track of. While Liz Talbot is the main character in the story, and I really like her, I enjoyed her father and his good ol' boy Southern attitude. There is more than meets the eye with that one! I look forward to reading the next book in the series but it will have to wait! Too many other books to read in order to get to the "almost finished" challenges!!
