Great YA book would appeal to boys as well as girls. A story about bullying and learning to appreciate your talents. One of my favorite series. Love the characters and their loyalty and the adventures they have together.

FYI: Book 7 - Erak's Ransom is chronologically between Book 4 Battle for Skandia/Oakleaf Bearers (same book different titles) and Book 5 The Sorcerer of the North.

I really enjoyed this. The character of Will was endearing, and I enjoyed seeing him face what life threw at him and begin to grow into the person he needed to become. I was on the Random house website when I noticed the advertising for this series and I read the excerpt (the first chapter). I was interested enough to get it out of the library a couple of days after.

A fun fantasy adventure. I don't read many children's books because I find them too young, but I did enjoy this one. This would certainly appeal to younger readers, children & teens, as there is action & humour & most of the MCs are teens, too.

Will had his heart set on becoming a knight but his growth spurt never arrived so he was deemed unsuitable, but he seems to be a natural fit for the Rangers. Horace begins to regret his wish to join the Battle School as things aren't working out as he had

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the 15 year old boy Will and his master teacher Holt. I liked that they were both good characters with good values.
