After reading the last Anita Blake I told myself that if things didn't get better I was done with the series. Well, It looks like I will be reading more after all. After several books that were long and drawn out with too much needless sex this was short, sweet and to the point.

I wanted to like this so much because I really like Micah (and Nathaniel) and I was curious about his history. I expected...more, I guess, out of this. It was short, which made me happy because I've been reading long books lately, but it also felt rushed. It's like Hamilton was writing the next book in the series and got an idea and decided to not include it in the next book, but stretch it out into a short one of its own.

I personally liked this book. Alot of people where complaining about it being like a novella and it is but it was worth the read IMO. Micah is one of my favorite characters in the series so I loved to learn more about him in this book. I personally love the direction that Laurell has taken this series and I can't wait to read more.
