I think I gave up looking for a plot less than halfway in. There were a few interesting moments, but I am not impressed. I think I'm giving the next book a chance and then I'm done with the series if it's not at least a little better than this one.

I remember when this series was great. Not just good, not just very good, but simply great. Sure the first two books were a little rough in character and writing style. However, the characters were interesting, the setup was clever, and the police work plots made for an excellent and compelling read. By book three, the series had hit its stride and was simply a great fantasy series. Then, it stumbled. The sex became a larger part of the books and the characters became less and less interesting.

Another great book from Laurell. I loved it!! Alot of people complain about them being soft porn and all I can say about that is bring it on. It is rare that you get enough plot in Erotica so when you get great sex scenes in Urban Fantasy it is a BIG bonus!! Keep up the great writing Laurell!!
This is the second Anita Blake book I have enjoyed. Still a little over done on the sex, but more of a plot and that is what the series has been missing.
