This was a satisfying and memorable conclusion to the Dust Lands trilogy!
It’s been a while since I was immersed in this series. I listened to the first book, Blood Red Road, back in December 2012 and the next one, Rebel Heart, in January 2013.
This installment starts off with the Free Hawks - Saba, Lugh, Ash, Creed, and Tommo – heading east. Saba’s keeping a secret from the rest of the crew. She’s leading the group by the marks that Jack has left on the trees. They don’t realize that Jack didn’t ...more

I had a really hard time deciding how to rate this one. While there were parts of it I loved and enjoyed immensely, there were also parts I hated.
I will do this review a little bit differently than normal and list what I liked and what I didn't.
The good:
+The writing style. Many people have reported having a hard time with it. Not me. I find it helped to draw me into the world and really become absorbed in the story.
+++The message of the book. I love that they solved their problems (view spoiler) ...more

Strong and 'realistic' finish to a strong series. I'm satisfied. I don't remember a ton of details from the other books... As it has been years since I read them.. But I picked right up with this one and a was right back into their world. I've always loved this authors way of portraying faults in her characters... And the ending reflects the apex of both good and bad decisions made by said characters through this series. Great read. :)

I'm not liking the cover, why didn't they keep the format of the first book first edition? =( I suppose I'll live. Hopefully until April 14th at least!
