I was very eager to read this because I wanted to see what Suzanne Collins had written before the Hunger Games series. In the end, I can understand why a lot of younger kids might really enjoy this book (and maybe the rest of the series), but I've just never been big on talking animals, with the exception of Charlotte's Web. The premise is a nice one. Gregor and his two-year-old sister, Boots, fall through an air shaft in the laundry room and end up in the vast Underworld, where very pale humans
