What Members Thought

I downgraded this book to 2 stars in the last chapter. Before that, I enjoyed it but I cannot hold with the way things ended.
You see, if there's something I HATE, are control freaks who think they know what's best for others and don't listen to what they have to say. I cannot respect a person who forces her will and basically enslaves a person "for their own good" without having a clue what's going on. And that's what Charley did at the end of the book so she's been added to my list of characte ...more

What an explosive beginning. It starts with Charley Davidson's BFF ripping her out of bed at 2am and continues with Reyes Farrow covered in blood, falling through her shower ceiling and landing right on top of her saying "Beware the wounded animal" and promptly vanishing into thin air. If that doesn't grab your attention, I don't think anything will.

Love this series!! Charley is a kick butt character!! Love her sass and spunk! I am all about a gal who speaks fluent sarcasm! She really is a fun character to read.
The story this time is multi-faceted and ever moving. It even had me guessing in the end! A real treat as I am usually onto the mystery a couple chapters into a book. So, kudos to Ms Jones!

The thing I enjoyed most about the first book in this series was Charley's conversations with dead people and how those conversations helped her to solve crimes. And I had really hoped that that was where the series would go, so I was a little disappointed with this book. There was a crime and there were a few brief conversations with ghosts, but this book was more about Reyes and the troublesome relationship between the two of them. I still loved the humour - Charley makes me laugh out loud - b

Charley Davidson is at it again.
Darynda Jones is a genius. She has made Charley and the gang characters that you just can't do without. The more I read the more I want.
What I love most about this book, besides Charley's witty sarcasm, is that her family dynamics is so much better, we learned more about the powers that Charley possess(right along with her), and we were given more info about Reyes. Oh, yeah we can't discount Garrett Swopes.
I don't know where Ms. Jones is going to end this series ...more

This is the second book, and usually in my experience second books don't go over as well as first books, however in this case it just isn't true. Charley's involved in an interesting missing persons case involving a friend of Cookie's named Mimi. Other people connected with Mimi have ended up dead so they need to find her before whoever is killing people does. Charley also needs to find Reyes corporeal form, because he is in danger from another supernatural entity. Reyes doesn't want Charley inv
