This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. The Perfect Hope is the last book in the Inn Boonsboro Trilogy and I enjoyed it the least of the three books. A friend loaned me this series along with the Bridal Quartet also written by Norah Roberts and I enjoyed this book so little that I am considering not reading the Bridal Quartet. The "couple" in this book is Ryder and Hope. Ryder is the oldest brother of the three male love interests in the series and Hope is the best friend of the other two female love interests in the series. Why does The Perfect Hope is the last book in the Inn Boonsboro Trilogy and I enjoyed it the least of the three books. A friend loaned me this series along with the Bridal Quartet also written by Norah Roberts and I enjoyed this book so little that I am considering not reading the Bridal Quartet. The "couple" in this book is Ryder and Hope. Ryder is the oldest brother of the three male love interests in the series and Hope is the best friend of the other two female love interests in the series. Why does it have to be so tidy? Now the three brothers and the three best friends can all live happily ever after giving each other wedding and baby showers and having picnics and living beside each other on the family compound. This would all be fine but I just didn't like Ryder and while I liked Hope, she seemed to make some poor choices for someone who was supposed to be so together.

During the two previous books, Ryder and Hope never seemed to show much interest in one another besides Hope's initial reaction when she saw Ryder. But when Hope's ex--who told her he was marrying someone else while they were in bed together--came to try and get her to be his mistress by bribing her with clothes and a house and a trip to Italy, rather than just sending him on his way, Hope grabs Ryder for a steamy kiss to show the ex she has someone new. Like she can't just say no unless she has another man? So then Ryder and Hope schedule to have sex, but have to reschedule several times because they are very busy with work and pretty soon they are a couple. Then the new wife of the ex comes back and Ryder has to go to Hope's old work place to get the patriarch to make the ex and his wife stay away from Hope. That whole thing seemed so icky and unrealistic. But Ryder had to protect "his woman." I also didn't like the way Ryder grunted more than he talked.

This book also ruined Avery for me. She had been my favorite character in book 1 and of the three, I enjoyed her story (book 2) the most. But in this one she started to annoy me, always referring to Owen as her boyfriend (I guess to remind us that her book is called The Last Boyfriend) and giving Hope some pretty bad advice--oh, he treats you bad, that probably means he likes you. Bleh. The only reason the book got 2 stars is because I was touched by the resolution of the ghost story that had carried across the three books, but even there it was a bit strange because even when they had helped Lizzie find her love from across time, she didn't go away--her ghost lover just came to live with her in the inn. The Inn Boonsboro #3 It's time for the last Montgomery brother to fall in love. Lizzy, the ghost is going to make it happen. Since Hope is her family, she has chosen Ryder for her. They both are stubborn. Lizzy shuts them in one of the Inn's rooms. Hope realizes that if they kiss, she will let them out. So they do.
