This book's situation is eerily forsee-able, which made it pretty interesting. A lot of what has happened to the world/humanity in this novel we have already started to see some of or are on the verge of (genetic modification, lack of oil, global warming, technology we can't control, germ warfare...). It was interesting to see these things taken to their extremes. I really enjoyed the idea of the "Crakers" - especially when they began to know and do more human things (art, religious worship) tha ...more

This didn't really grab me. In fact, I almost gave up after 100 pages, but it did improve & get easier to read after this point.

An interesting take on the destruction of humankind, & it can't be too far off until we do destroy ourselves. I don't think anyone need provide the next species, though, as the Earth will recover of itself after a time, & a new "alpha" species emerge.

I did like the self-healing mechanism, the purring resonance. I know it makes me feel better in spirit, so why not physic
