Listened to this on audio for the second time around and loved it just as much as the first time. It's a novel of pathos and hope and love.

Evelyn Couch is an unhappy housewife living in Alabama. While visiting the nursing home her mother-in-law has been put in Evelyn befriends Ninny Threadgoode. Ninny tells Evelyn all about her home town of Whistle Stop and the cafe there run by Idgie and Ruth. I loved the characters especially Ninny. The book does skip around a lot in time and between characters which I found to be confusing in places.
Whenever I see that a movie was based on a novel, I have to go read the novel since the book is almost always better than the movie. In the case of Fried Green Tomatoes, I'd have to say that I loved both!

One of my favorite movies, and now one of my favorite books. Just a really great story that leaves me smiling every time.
