This book just about broke my heart. I could identify so well with Peter that it was scary. Jodi Picoult can take any character, no matter how flawed , and peel away layer after layer to show us the truth of that character. This book, about a school shooting, could have been so simplistic in describing the tragedy and how it affected the victims and their families. I thought this was the best book Picoult has written so far. It also makes me think of students who have carried out similar school shooting and how their lives may have been affected by bullies. I was reading this book at the time of the VA Tech tradegy, which made the story all that more real.
