I love John Grisham's earlier works (not so much his more recent ones). The Testament was one of the first John Grisham books, I had ever read... I think I was in middle school. I remember somewhat the gist of the books, but I didn't remember the ending.
What I like about The Testament is that beyond being a mystery type of book, or Legal Thriller, or whatever, it is actually a story about redemption and turning your life around. Killing your demons, so to speak. I can't really relate to people w ...more

I loved the beginning; I think it's a very tricky & unsuspecting (well, for me anyway) beginning and therefore, sets off the whole train of events. What I didn't like most was the squabbling over wealth and the 'squabblers' (is that's a word) but yet again, it is very realistic. The scheming for wealth and to protect the wealth whilst quite interesting in their strategy just didn't particularly appeal to me.
