Some books are so much fun to read that one wishes that they did not end. I liked this fantasy very much. Imagine living in one's dream world or is it an alternate reality? My gosh this book is dark and depressing. It is the type of depressing that sticks with you throughout the day. I loved it!
It's tagged many times as YA and I have to disagree with that pretty strongly. Sure, some mature teens would probably be fine with it, but I don't think it's suitable for the majority of teens.

This was an interesting fairy tale style story of a family twined with magic and tragedy, with a girl whose life is twisted by abuse and rape escaping to a safer world, but one that is intrinsically false. And her daughters (see abuse and rape) also trying to make sense of the world.
