When I opened this book and saw that it was entirely written as poetry, I almost decided not to read it. I'm very glad I didn't give up on it. It tells the intermingled stories of three troubled teens in their own words, and -- while the use of poetry at first seemed rather gimmicky to me -- I found that it made me slow down and listen more carefully to what each one was saying. The three protagonists were articulate, thoughtful, and desperate to find a way out of the mess their lives had become

Overall this book was good. I liked the ending and found all three characters very interesting. I wished it'd gone more into detail with some of the background stories with all three though.
