Now I remember why I stopped reading this series. It's total crap. I can't stand the protagonist, Mac. She just gets on my last nerve. And her "men" Barrons and V'Lane. What's up with them? V'Lane's a fae and wants Mac but Mac wants nothing to do with him regardless of his sex appeal. And Barrons...no one even knows what he is. All I can say is that I'm glad I waited until the series was already published to start reading it. The switch in the narration to Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante was just marvelous.

My original review still stands, but I have to point out that the most emotional scenes for me were the beginning, when Mac wasn't herself and that very last scene when Mac realized that she has lost more than she thought she could. All I can say is...Wow!!
No matter how many times I read it, and I've read it a lot, it still evokes the same gut-wrenching feelings as it did the first time around.
