I’ve enjoyed this series a lot: the mix of humor, action and mythology are lots of fun plus I also prefer men as main characters, especially if those books are told in the 1st person and I have to live in their heads. But something was missing in this book. I think we have reached a point where we need to know more about Atticus and I don’t see that coming. I’m not sure if this is intentional or if the author just hasn’t developed Atticus' past properly. This is a man who has lived ...more

You feel differently about a book when you read it aloud, especially when it has a ton of "big" words and unpronounceable names and you're reading it to a sort of special ed teenager. But she really enjoyed it, despite not being into fantasy. I liked it of course, so the fact that both of us got into it says something about the book.

In the previous books, the killing Atticus did was forced on him, but this time he goes looking for a fight and it makes him somewhat unlikeable (view spoiler)

This book made me question how Atticus could live to be so old when he does such foolish and impulsive things. Ugh. This book seemed much slower and more confusing than the previous 2. Also, how have so many gods died in these 3 books when they've lasted for all time previously? I find it hard to believe that crossing Atticus is the only thing that could've killed these all-powerful, immortal gods. And finally, there was not enough interaction with Atticus' hound Oberon, Granuaile, Atticus's new

This book started off with a bang....and a lot of information! I loved it once I got my head around all the Norse mythology. Atticus is at his best as he attempts to fulfill promises made to various friends/allies. Much more serious than the previous two books. The last few chapters had me in tears. Can't wait for the next installment! 4.5 stars

The storyline keeps getting richer and richer. Loving all the new developments. Especially enjoyed the stories told during the "male bonding".
