Juliana Philippa
The thing was, they had something in common, something that crossed species lines and eclipsed social stratifications and bonded them together even though she would have denied it. She was lonely, too, and in the same way he was.

I was very excited about Rehvenge's story, because talk about an anti-hero—he's half-symphath (who are basically manipulative murdering sociopaths), as well as a drug-dealer, pimp, and bookie. At this point, we've seen him do right by the Brotherhood multip

Just like every other BDB follower, I didn't particularly like Rehvenge in earlier books. He's a drug dealer, a pimp and supposedly an all-around bad guy. But once you get into his life, you realize where he came from and why he is doing what he does to survive - and all it is is survival not living.

I especially liked the pairing with Ehlena. She's the exact opposite of him in all ways except her exile which puts them squarely in the same boat. Rehv is the typical tortured hero who uses his sel

4.5 stars. Many interesting plot advancements and this book stars multiple characters and their relationships, not just a single couple like most of the previous books in the series.

Rehvenge and Ehlena

I love how these two are on complete opposite sides of the innocent vs. bad spectrum. Not that Rehv is bad, but it's more about the things they do in their life, so I guess it makes him more anti-hero.

I think next Z, this is the character I was wanting to read about the most, up to this point anyway, because this book definitely piqued my interest about what's to come.

As always there's an ongoing story surrounding the main couple and we get multiple POVs to help tie everythin

I love Rehv! This is the first BDB book not focused on a member of the Brotherhood, but it doesn't make it any less engaging. Rehv is a complex character and I loved watching his story unfold again. Ehlena is a great match for this male. I wish there was more to their story, but other than appearances from both characters, there hasn't been much to add. Here's hoping Ms. Ward circles back to this pair at some point in the future.
