I loathed John Wade so much. This was the story of some two-bit magician going around calling himself the Sorcerer, trying to pull a vanishing trick on the war crimes he was part of. And then his wife also vanishes - who honest to god should have run in the opposite direction the minute this creep approached her in college and gotten a restraining order on the way - who supposedly loved him but was having difficulties with. Because he wanted to be a politician for some reason.

I read this book for a library book club. Someone described it best when they said it was "disturbing." I did not enjoy the book but it did make me think a bit. It also expanded my reading horizons. I hope my next book is extremely uplifting to make up for this one.
