This book was fun - very Jane Austen. Her plots of course tend to be very similar; all revolve around romances that seem doomed only to find their way in the end. (At least, all that I've read of hers, anyway - which I believe are most.) It's interesting to read of England in her time from her privileged point of view - the issues that her characters dealt with being somewhat, er, fluffy. I recently re-read Persuasion because Book-It has adapted the book for the stage and performed excerpts at the Central Library. I have been a Jane Austen fan since high school (starting with Pride and Prejudice, of course) and I think Persuasion might be my favorite of her books.
