Sometimes when book bothers me, I read more by the same auther to develope my sense of the author's style and personality. This book, however, did the opposite, after finishing it I had the same thought, "this is brillian but why does the author write such fantastical situations." I finally "get" this guys genius after I read a quote in a book I am reading now that says, "all good fiction does not necessarily depict reality as much as it uncovers truth." FINALLY, I got it. This book was misery.......but good misery. Who hasn't felt trapped ? Stupid rules, authority that does not know what it is doing, the blind leading the blind. so....... a depressing book, but that is what makes it a great book.

Could have been great if it had been completed.
Such a good book! Franz Kafka is such an amazing author. Definitely a memorable book with an interesting ending.
