Hallowe'en Party was a quick, light read. If you've seen any of the Agatha Christie adaptations on T.V. you'll probably be able to imagine how this story was written. There were no loose ends and events and conclusions were explained in detail by the "detective", Hercule Poirot, in this case. I was interested to see how Agatha Christie incorporated some of the culture of the times - the book was written in 1969 - with references to au pairs, male fashion and so on.

A quick easy read, good plot if not quite a masterpiece!

This was quite intruiging. I really liked the characters and I liked the fact that Agatha Christie lets her characters speak for themselves, so you get an idea of the character from what they say and how they say it rather than because she's told you what they are like. Some of their comments were very similar though which was a bit odd, but overall this was an enjoyable book to read and has made me think about dusting off my other Christies and doing a spot of re-reading.
