Interesting if uneven re-imagining of the Arthurian myth from the perspective of the myth's main female characters (Igraine, Viviaine, Morgaine, Gwenhwyfar). I found the Uther/Igraine and young Morgaine sections very engrossing, the rest of the book less so, but still worthwhile. The Arthur-Gwenhwyfar-Lancelet love triangle was sometimes moving, sometimes tedious in its endless tortured ramifications. I vividly remember reading (and adoring) this book in junior high. I'm due for a re-read, however, as my junior high self and I don't always see eye to eye on book quality.
