I enjoyed this but felt it spent a lot of time underscoring everything to make sure the reader followed every step of the protagonist’s emotional and physical journey. Since there weren’t a lot of surprises this was a bit aggravating. I mean, the details were fresh but the shape of the story was telegraphed fairly well.
