I'm not sure how I would have felt about this book if I'd simply read it, but lucky me, I listened to it read by Wil Wheaton, which was really great. I didn't see the surprises coming, and now I'm going back to listen to Little Fuzzy, which Fuzzy Nation is based on.

Has a fresh and quick step in its plot with a smidgin of character revelation in the time development with too much lawyer-esque debating going on; for a writer, Scalzi is oddly in love with attorneys and the extreme bending of court etiquette to move the story along; what I do like is the unreliable nature of the narrator because it makes him that much more human.

Unsurprisingly easy read from Scalzi. I had read the original (and at least one sequel) several years ago. And I hadn't wanted to read this one, because I liked the real fuzzies so much. But this was in the library and being talked about on the sword&laser podcast, so why not. The bad guys are quite bad, the good guys at least somewhat nuanced, the fuzzies are still adorable.
