The Midnight Library walked so The Wedding People could fly. This is my favorite book of 2024. All the stars

4.5 stars! Full of hope. I almost put it down after the first chapter. This book is about the midlife coming of age story that happens after you followed the rules and did the things and then realized you lost yourself along the way. I loved the main characters growing compassion and wisdom as she grew into herself! I will say I was very turned off in the beginning and wondered if I wanted to keep reading. I think any woman in her 40s can empathize with much of this book, with feeling invisible, lost, disappointed, lacking, etc. I thought it was a simple romcom. However, when you start off with a potential suicide, you realize it is so much more. It is instead a journey for not just Phoebe as she navigates living, a divorce, a lackluster career, and infertility, but also for Gary, Jim, and Lila. Every page hit.
