As I was reading this one, I realized that I was enjoying the POVs that weren’t Aelin’s or Rowan’s more. I was never bored in this book (there’s way too much happening for that) but I felt their story was more predictable, therefore less interesting. But by the end though, I was fully invested in both of them again. Only to find out that the next book is not about them. That is okay. I trust this author now and am sure the next one will be good too.
I did the tandem read between Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn which is why both books have a 5⭐ instead of 4.
I don't think I could have read it in published order without getting annoyed at the flow or wondering how it will all tie together. Thoroughly recommend the tandem for these two for maximum enjoyment! ...more
