Oh, how I love this book! I’ve recently been revisiting all my neo favorite novels in audiobook format. Having just reunited with my personal library, I was looking forward to rereading Ready Player One but decided to try listening to it instead. I enjoyed this book when I first read it. It was fun & appealed to my nostalgic nerdy heart. I rated it highly because of the ridiculous fun factor & moved on.
Then the hype for the movie began.
I started to think about the book in terms of nerd-culture overall, in terms of GamerGate. This book is amazing! It has everything you could want even for those who aren't "into" the sci-fi genre. I highly recommend this and particularly for geeks like me who are of the 1980s.
