Liked it. Probably 3.5 stars, because it was well-written. I like historical fiction and I'm often drawn toward the stories of resilience of WW2. The problem is that after a while, those stories all start to blend together. I was so sad I didn't enjoy this book. Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors and I love history and stories about WWII but this book I struggled to get through. I loved hearing about what life in France was like during the war. It was hard and sad for everyone. Even though I liked the book, it was too sad for me. I had to listen to the end at double speed because it was so sad.
