What's worse than being stuck in the middle of some hipster couple's fight? Listening in on the landline on said fight! This was one big meh to me. Could be because I am not a huge fan of talking on the phone? Or that I am not a huge fan of the institution of marriage? I found myself cringing constantly. And feeling like the author was trying to hard too to be "cool" with all of her distracting pop culture references (do people still talk about M*A*S*H?). Also I thought maybe I was too old for t

Meh.
I liked the premise of a magical telephone. That's awesome.
I didn't "get along" with some of the characters. But some of the images were beautiful- her husband and the daughters orbiting him like satellites.
I'm glad the main character got a big reality check even if it was late and her husband was too welcoming to her. ...more

Another feel-good book from the wonderful Rainbow Rowell. While not my favorite, it still had characters I cared about, made me laugh, made me cry, and was just fun to read. Rowell writes dialogue that makes sense to me. I feel immediately comfortable with the people she's writing about. I think her portrayal of love and marriage was realistic and touching. The main thing that didn't work for me was the yellow phone. I just couldn't get on board with the "magic" phone idea. 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed the overall story but I dont like how the time traveling phone was never explained.

I didn't like Landline as much as Fangirl, but I think it's better than Attachments.
