I think it's a very clever book. John Green, author of An Abundance of Katherines, which I never read but keep thinking I should, sets up a mathematically precise framework for discussions of empathy, presentation, and perception. Without ever using any of those three words, which is - hoo boy - wouldn't that ruin a YA book?!

A Book Vacation
This book was okay. Not as phenomenal as "Looking for Alaska," but an interating story just the same. I liked the mystery portion of the book, but I did feel it to be a bit preachy at the end. ...more

I could not stop reading this book, which is tragic because I had way too much to do to stop for a few hours to finish this.

I grew up near Tampa so I had a lot of connections with the Orlando setting. Florida is its own weird little place and John Green's details about the setting felt very authentic to me.

At first she seemed cool but then was pretty self-centered for the rest of the book. She redeemed herself the tiniest bit at the end but I still walked away not liking her. The secondary characters were alright.

The first half of the book was a bit boring but once the road trip started, I got really into it. The conclusion didn't really

Loved this book. Everyone seems to think No Fault in Our Stars was so awesome. This one was much better, IMO.

I was disappointed in this after reading and loving The Fault in Our Stars. The beginning was great and really captivated me but all of the clues and searching for Margo bored me.

I didn't finish it. I was three quarters through the book and just didn't care anymore about what happened to the characters. I must admit, however, that I saw the movie first and enjoyed it. ...more
