"It was true that she was a creature of the night. But she would decide for herself what that meant."

A perfectly creepy middle-grade story that was fun to read.

Serafina is a memorable heroine with a connection to an enchanted forest, and the villain is a supernatural man who kidnaps children to drain the life from them. The writing was crisp and engaging, with classic fairy tale vibes.

Sefarina and the Black Cloak is dark, spooky, and atmospheric - perfect for an October or winter night.
