Lemony Snicket wrote the word "ever" for an entire page and if you don't think that is brillant, I don't want to talk to you. (It made me glad that I didn't chose the audiobook version haha.
In all seriousness, I love this series. I love the morbidness and I love how Snicket teaches children about different literary elements in a fun way (in this book of the series, he teaches about dramatic irony). I can't wait to keep reading the rest of the books.

I liked this one more than the first - I think I've gotten used to his writing, and especially to the dreary subject matter. Unfortunate events indeed - it's so depressing that these poor children can't catch a break! I liked how Count Olaf sneaked his way back into their lives, and I especially loved how toddler Sunny is much smarter than she seems and helped reveal the evil-doers.
