History is so interesting to me. Some of the great people we admire are really similar to people today. This book is a bit more about Merriweather Lewis than anyone else on the expedition. He was good at what he did in the expedition but it didn't seem to help him long term in life. He still struggled with the same problems during the expedition and afterward.

I enjoyed this book. I have read others about this expedition but it was about 15 years ago and so it was nice to hear the story again.

Courageous he was, determined, and with excellent judgment. This account is a thoroughly detailed report from Lewis's journal on the trip. Long, but worth the read! ...more
