[close] I love how it's told from three different point of views, to help the reader understand all the perspectives of living in Mississippi in the 1960's. There's no superbly happy ending and it's a reminder that life itself doesn't always have a happily ever after. It's a very inspiring book.

This is an excellent book. I am so glad I read it prior to the movie, as it was far more complex. Incredible characters and an insightful glance at society. The reader is pulled into the story and becomes a part of the lives of the characters. Highly recommend!
