Honestly this book was just pick up on a whim type of book but after reading it I felt like I was apart of the story! Suicide and Bullying is a large issue in the US right now and I feel this book should be a required reading for students! This book made me cry and realize that there are people out there who we effect without even realizing it. This book made me want to be more observant of teens out there that show the signs of depression and wanting to commit suicide! I'm going to get this boo

Thirteen Reasons Why tells the story of Hannah Baker, a young girl who recently committed suicide. Before her death, Hannah explains her decision to take her own life on 7 cassette tapes. Each side of every tape is directed at one person who she sees as a reason why she ultimately took her own life. As the tapes are passed around, each of the 13 people find out how they made the list.

Wow!
From the very beginning, this book was memorizing. As soon as I started the audiobook, I was hooked and wanted to know what would happen next. Since the book revolves around the tapes that Hannah recorded, I think the audiobook format was perfect for this novel.
Asher was able to make a very touching and realistic story. The characters seemed like real people and even characters that made bad choices were given a compassionate side (at least most of them).

I'm not sure. The story is believable and so much if it happens everyday, and I think that is the worst part for me. We are not always kind to each other and we often never stop to think how that unkindness leaves a mark. I wanted to read this as just a reader and despite my best efforts, I read it as a mother and the tears are for our littles ones who might suffer one day and we might not ever know.
