Jane is jilted at the alter and her missing bridegroom's cousin (the oh-so-rogue-ish, Grayson Bostcastle, Marquess of Sedgecroft) offers to help reintroduce the now ostrasized Jane back into society. After all, if Sedgecroft thinks she is worthy, then she must be worthy.
What Sedgecroft doesn't know is that Jane and her missing groom planned the whole thing. She, so she would be able to choose her own husband. He, because he wanted to marry someone socially unacceptable to his parents.
Will Jane and Sedgecroft fall in love? Will Sedgecroft forgive Jane her deception? Of course! This is a romance after all, and it wouldn't be right if all did not end happily ever after.
But.... getting there is all the fun!
