I enjoyed reading the descriptions of life in England in the 1200s. The information supported and tied together what I have learned form the historical fiction I've enjoyed lately, like Elizabeth's Chadwick's novels about William Marshal. I also understand a bit more of a connection to the work of our own founding fathers in 1776!
