I decided to read this after hearing all the hype about the latest book coming out. I usually don't care for Young Adult novels but there are some exceptions. Well, I thought this book was bout 250 pages too long. The first half of the book droned on and on. It was so redundant and I was completely bored. Definitely a teenager's book. The whole crush/romance/love thing is just a bit too much. But, its what 16 year olds love. Personally, if it wasn't about vampires, I would have no interest in it. But, I love vampire books. For others who love vampire books, and are adults, I'd recommend Fledgling by Octavia Butler instead.

I had forgotten how engrossing teen vampire books can be. It was just what you would expect. Predictiable. Super mushy. Somewhat uncomfortable in it's utter childish relationship. The climax could have been better. I kept waiting for someone to eat the main character. And I have read much better vampire stories.
