I knew something tragic was going to happen-I did not know anything else about this book, but I knew that the title of this book is basically synonymous with “sad dog story”… but knowing that it would be sad did not prepare me for just how devastated I would be by that ending. This just brings back childhood memories of dog movies. I don't know if I actually ever read the book. It was sad of course and I never remember the book talking about Billy's mom. I kept thinking this must have been so hard for her.

I am glad i read this book but it held true to what everyone said. I cried for like the last three chapters. I borrowed this book from the library after a conversation on books we read that made us cry and Not because I wanted to cry or thought I wouldn't but because I was like the only one that did not read this book i took it out and read it. It is a great story of a young boy's determination and love between him and his dogs. I hope it inspires me to accomplish more in my life and I remember ...more
