What Members Thought
This is a book with two focal points, the Devil, serial killer H. H. Holmes, and the White City, the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. The Devil story was riveting and held my interest during the slow build up as the fair’s planners and designers were fleshed out and construction got underway. And once the fair was up and running it was a wondrous thing to read about, to the point that the Devil, Holmes, was almost a distraction.
