OMG I'm in love , why didn't i read this a long time ago?
This book changed everything i thought about Jane Austen , now i have a new perspective of her and her books , i'll go back and reread every book i read before and see it in a new light .
Respect to one of the queens of romance .
Anne Elliot is one of my favorite female character ever , she's beautiful , romantic and funny .
This is a pre-review rant, I will write a full review soon . ...more

I feel that this is Jane Austen's most profound and moving novel. This time I read the Bookdoor's annotated ebook edition. The wealth of contextual details provided, the excellent discussion points and the fine categorised areas of examination enormously enrich the reading experience.

Having watched many adaptations of her work this is the first Austen I've actually read. I chose it precisely because I didn't know the story.
Very enjoyable. The language was a little bit of a barrier but less so the more you get into it. In terms of story not necessarily up there with her other novels - but then maybe I'm judging against versions with judicious editing for modern audiences?
Still, plenty to enjoy.

Main character Anne Elliot yielded to her friend's persuasion once and found herself regretting it. Will she get another chance? Or will her friend persuade her to make a wrong choice again? Persuasion was cheerful and predictable with enough doubt about the outcome to hold my interest right up until the end.
