Somehow I managed to read this series out of order, and I read Simon Says, book two, after both books one and three. I enjoyed Simon Says, but it was my least favorite of the three fighter series books. There was something about the heroine that just felt off to me. She had run away as a teenager with an older man, suffered an abusive marriage which she finally escaped, and finally worked to learn how to defend herself. She came across to me as rather brash. I liked this better than the first in this series. They didn't jump each others bones first off (which puts me off some books) and both had a bit of baggage to overcome to get together. Liked how LF dealt with Dakota's sexual issues. These types of themes are a favourite of mine so am a bit picky in how they are portrayed. LF did well and there were no 'clanger' moments (these being when I stop reading with a WTF? moment).
