Let me start out by saying...I love Jennifer Weiner. I relate to her, a strange part of me feels like I know her, maybe because I see pieces of myself in her characters and my guess is that she puts little parts of her into her characters. I feel like if Jennifer was my neighbor we would be friends. Her books are fun to read and most would call them Chic Lit... but to me they are Chic Lit with a bit more substance.

This is the sequels to Weiners book "Good in Bed" which is the only other book of hers I have read. Being of substantial size myself, I really enjoyed that story--about a plus-sized woman whose ex-boyfriend writes a column about how surprisingly satisfying it is to sleep with a big woman.

So I have to admit that I didn't love this book as much as Good in Bed, I think it was the ending that did me in. But while I didn't LIKE the ending, I accepted it since it was well written. Reading Good in Bed first wouldn't be necessary, but if you have the time I would recommend it as they gloss over some of the character development and refer to events that happened in that book.

Overall another hit by Jennifer Weiner!

It was great having Cannie back... Even if it was just for a couple of days;) I thought the book was fun (well, for the most part - at least:) - It was interesting to see the story develop from Cannie's daughter's perspective. I think that motherhood had mellowed Cannie - and she wasn't nearly as "FIESTY" as she was in the original book. But still, a thoroughly enjoyable read!!!! ...more
