I didn't realize how much I missed Anita and her band of dark and dangerous vamps and other worldly creatures.
Loved the story, the action and Jean Claude.
Love Laurell and her skills at getting me sucked in and caught up in her web. I could not put this book down. I've missed out on all my TV series this week. Yeah, it's that good.
Highly recommend! ...more

Good read
The beginning suffered from repetitive lack of editing at least twice the circus parking and door access was described en nauseam but it finally leveled out and you got a good solid story not sure how editing dropped ball on first 20 percent also at this point actually around book ten it stopped being a start anywhere series so if ppl need back story they can go back and read it you don't need three para or pages for every back story I did enjoy the refreshment of some things status and ...more

Anita is back!!
For the past few books, the sex had taken over the stories of our beloved Executioner, but she's returned in Dead Ice. While planning her marriage to JC as well as her commitment ceremony with the rest of her loves, Anita Blake must find the new power in town that is raising zombies with their souls intact.
I really enjoyed this one and can't wait for the next installment!!

I would be giving 3.5 stars if I could but since I'm a fan of the series I will round up. I enjoyed the book but dig not enjoy all the explaining and re-explaining of past books. At this point with so many books in a series you should be more concerned with your loyal readers than the random reader that may pick the book up and get lost. also the ended was a bit anti climatic but a lot of that had to do with the over explaining with everything I felt she ran out of room.

Very little sex, plenty of political wrangling & posturing with old enemies & friends. Old enemies & coming back to haunt Anita, and old issues coming back. Plenty of Jean Claude, & most of the guys, Manny, & Zerbrowski. Some of the book was about Anita's necromancy, and some was about the issues with the tigers, Asher, & Hyenas. A few big/startling surprises. Good twist with the necromancy case/issue. The more I read, the more I like Nicky.

I enjoyed the parts of this book that weren't all about Anita's relationship drama, but there's so much DRAMA in this book that it got annoying.
I'm really on the fence of whether I'm going to continue reading this series. I've been a fan for about a decade, but I hate the direction these books are taking and miss the old Anita. ...more
