2011 Review
I love the Anita Blake Vampire Killer series, but this one just was not up to snuff. It almost seems like with some editing it would have been better as a novella. That and the razor blade on the cover? I didn't get that either. The only thing of any worth SPOILER is that using her vampire powers she rolls a werelion and he goes from being one of her abductors to her slave (or in the next book they call him her BRIDE).

A very short read as this is only a slice of Anita Blake's life. No other subplots. Though I have to agree with the other reviews, there are too many "flirt" words and other derivatives one can get from it...i.e. "flirty girl/boy". As such, you are going to be sick of that word.
However, the writing is still at par with the rest of the series. So similar with "Micah". If you are looking for more necromancy action, then this is the novel for you. ...more
