2011 Review
I love the Anita Blake Vampire Killer series, but this one just was not up to snuff. It almost seems like with some editing it would have been better as a novella. That and the razor blade on the cover? I didn't get that either. The only thing of any worth SPOILER is that using her vampire powers she rolls a werelion and he goes from being one of her abductors to her slave (or in the next book they call him her BRIDE).

2014 Review
This is one of the shorter books in her series. The trou

The book wasn't just about Flirting but also a sense of justice, Anita style justice. If there is one thing I've learnt from reading all of these Anita books is that 'you cannot screw with Anita and get away with it!!' cause she will get you mind body and soul!!! he he he

This book was a nice short book about 160pages. People have said that her books have gotten crappy with the whole succubus thing but I actually think this series is awesome. Cause even though the whole concept seems nuts, Laurel

A very short read as this is only a slice of Anita Blake's life. No other subplots. Though I have to agree with the other reviews, there are too many "flirt" words and other derivatives one can get from it...i.e. "flirty girl/boy". As such, you are going to be sick of that word.

However, the writing is still at par with the rest of the series. So similar with "Micah". If you are looking for more necromancy action, then this is the novel for you.

I enjoyed this little taste of Anita. I was glad to see Micah, Nathaniel and Jason, I love those guys but damn it I need some Jean Claude and Asher too. This was a nice little nibble and has me craving for more. Looking forward to Bullet. Hurry up Bullet!!

I fear Ms. Hamilton has run her course with Anita Blake. This story was somewhat lame. Still I felt that she was reaching and searching for a story line. The whole story felt to me as pushed and rushed. Must do better...
