I had very high hopes for this book but unfortunately it didn’t quite meet them. The story was fun but not particularly original or interesting. I could have used with distinctly more character development and the second half of the book felt more than a bit rushed. These main characters go on multiple magical quests but none of them really has a sufficient amount of build up or tension to feel particularly high-steaks even as their importance is stated in the text.
