Really, really compelling. I thought the resolution of the mystery had a little less depth than I expected -- it was just a "here's the thriller part" section for me. A great mystery, I was hooked from the beginning. Very detailed and took place in Sweden. Two main characters came together to unravel several mysteries. Very enjoyable.

Ok, it took forever but I finally finished it. The book would be great if it stuck to the murder mystery (which is partly obvious but still fun). Instead about 1/3 of the book is the mystery & the rest deals with business politics. I think this is one situation where the movie may be better than the book. I really had to work through the first 200 pages of this book! It's a book club selection, so I kept plugging and I'm certainly glad that I did. Once I got past page 200, I didn't want to put it down.

Incidentally, I had purchased The Girl Who Played with Fire from Audible, not realizing it was part of a series. I tried to listen, but I was totally lost. Now I'm going to go back to it...but I'm not sure that this book is suited to an audio version. I may end up buying the paperback.

I truly enjoyed this book. It is a great mystery. The twists and turns in this book were awesome. I can't wait to get the next two books in this series. This book is a must read.
