Wow, what an awesome book! It gets you from page one and keeps you interested through the end! I didn't want to put it down. I completely fell in love with the characters and Shadow Falls camp. It's so different from most books about supernaturals and has several nice twists throughout it that I wasn't quite expecting till I got close. This book is funny, sweet, and at some points a somewhat tear jerker. I'm also really hoping she chooses Derek! Can't wait for the next book! ...more

I love this story!! haha. never been read any story that has so many creatures and abilities inside. Normally,the books tell about vampire or werewolf, or both of them, or fae this lately. But thanks to 2011 I read a couple of things about Revenants, Gargoyle,etc :D

This book started a little rocky for me, and at first I wasn't sure about it at all, but after I got into the novel (30-50 pages) I ended up loving it. This novel kind of puts me in mind of Hex Hall, which I absolutely LOVED, because of the camp of supernatural "freaks."

There were two things that kept me hooked in this one: Boys and the mystery of what kind of supernatural Kylie was.

What if the only thing that separates you from being human, is when you were born at midnight?

Kylie Galen had the worst day of her life, her parents announced that they were getting a divorce, her nana was still dead, her boyfriend broke up with her and she was caught in a high school party filled with booze. To make matters worse, Soldier Dude was back, and he was the reason why Kylie had been seeing a shrink, because, well, a normal human were not supposed to see ghosts, right?

Well, I liked this book. It reminds me a little bit of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. It has some really good moments and some times when it is a bit slow. Some times I feel like the relationships with the guys is more important than the true premise of what really makes this book interesting. I understand that we are having to see Kylie as a soon to be 17 year old, but her life has changed majorly and she is too worried about the boys she likes.
